| I got this in Poundland for just £1.50, such a bargain! |
Step 1. Prepare the wooden cutting board
Start by cleaning the wooden cutting board to remove any dirt or debris. Sand the surface of the cutting board lightly to create a smooth base for staining and painting.

I used Johnstone's Woodstain Country Walnut. You can use acrylic paint too.
Step 2: Stain the cutting board Apply wood stain to the entire surface of the cutting board using a paintbrush. Allow the stain to penetrate the wood according to the instructions on the stain container. Wipe off any excess stain with a clean cloth and let the cutting board dry completely.
Step 3: Paint the edges (optional) If desired, paint the edges of the cutting board with a contrasting colour of your choice. Use a paintbrush to carefully apply the paint along the edges, ensuring even coverage. Let the paint dry completely before proceeding.
Step 4: Create a design using the Cricut Use the Cricut or any cutting machine to cut out a farmhouse-inspired pattern on vinyl or stencil material. Adjust the size and design of the pattern according to your preference. Peel off the backing of the vinyl or stencil material to expose the adhesive side.
Step 5: Apply the pattern to the cutting board Carefully position the cut-out pattern on the surface of the cutting board. Press down firmly to ensure good adhesion and smooth out any air bubbles. Make sure the edges of the pattern are securely attached to the wood.
Step 6: Paint the pattern Using a paintbrush, apply paint over the stencil or vinyl cut-out on the cutting board. Apply the paint evenly and avoid excessive brushstrokes. Allow the paint to dry for a few minutes, then carefully remove the stencil or vinyl material to reveal the pattern. Unfortunately, my paint bleed out in some places, but that's okay, it happens ;) |

Add mini wreath and a twine as a ribbon, and voila!...
Your DIY farmhouse cutting board is now complete! You can use it as a decorative piece for your farmhouse-inspired decor.
